The elder Chan, while apologising to the public on the issue, said that Jaycee Chan would have to face the consequences of his actions.
He also promised that the two would face the future together.
Police said both actors tested positive for marijuana and admitted using the drug, and that 100 grams (3.53 ounces) of it were taken from Jaycee’s home.
The younger Chan is accused of accommodating drug users, an offense that carries a maximum sentence of three years’ imprisonment  a far more serious charge than that of drug consumption.
It would be recalled that China named the Jackie Chan as an anti-drug ambassador in 2009.
Jackie Chan was born Chan Kong-sang on 7 April, 1954.
He has worked as a Hong Kong actor, action choreographer, comedian, director, producer, martial artist, screenwriter, entrepreneur, singer, and stunt performer.
In his movies, he is known for his acrobatic fighting style, comic timing, use of improvised weapons, and innovative stunts. He is one of the few actors to have performed all of his film stunts. Chan has been acting since the 1960s and has appeared in over 150 films.
