Eminem, 41, really is back and better than ever! The “Rap God” had some pretty stiff competition for the Artist of the Year award — he was up against talented fellow artists Justin Bieber, Rihanna,
Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, One Direction, Psy, Epic Rap Battles of History, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis — but he blew away all of his rivals to take home the YouTube trophy, a red-and-white click icon.
The first YouTube Awards, live streamed worldwide, were nothing if not unique, and they honored the Artist of the Year based on who was the most watched, shared, liked, and subscribed-to artist on Youtube. More than 16 million people voted, and Eminem nabbed the prize.
Unfortunately, he was not able to accept the award — but not because he wasn’t there. Em was busy backstage preparing for his live performance of “Rap God,” which turned out to be awesome.
